Nest
Nest, a subsidiary of Google LLC, specializes in the production and sale of smart home products, including thermostats, smoke detectors, and security systems. Founded in 2010 by former Apple engineers Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers, Nest gained prominence with its first product, the Nest Learning Thermostat, which uses machine learning to optimize heating and cooling in homes. The company expanded its product line to include smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and security cameras. In 2014, Google acquired Nest Labs for $3.2 billion, integrating it into its hardware division to further advance smart home technology.
