Mothercare
Mothercare is a British retailer that specializes in products for expectant mothers and in general merchandise for children up to eight years old. The company was founded in 1961 by Selim Zilkha and Sir James Goldsmith. It has since expanded its product offerings to include maternity and children’s clothing, furniture, home furnishings, and toys. Mothercare initially operated through catalog sales, but eventually grew to establish retail stores. Despite facing financial difficulties, which led to the closure of its UK stores in 2019, Mothercare continues to operate through an international franchise network and online sales, maintaining its presence in many countries around the world.
