About Gemist
Based in Downtown Los Angeles, Gemist is an online jewelry outfit founded by Madeline Fraser. Madeline, who had majored in growing tech startups, used the knowledge to help clients customize their preferred jewelry at their convenience. Gemist claims that all its jewelry pieces are handcrafted from scratch with a touch of ethically sourced ceramic stones and materials to support sustainability. They claim to use GIA-certified natural diamonds and quality gemstones that are gorgeous in color.

The jewelry category offered by Gemist includes rings, earrings, and an array of gemstones with different color palettes that customers can choose from. Customers looking to purchase rings from Gemist can find stackable bands, statement rings, delicate rings, engagement rings, and wedding bands all under the ring category section. The earrings category offered by this jewelry outfit store includes Huggies, hoops, studs amongst others. Gemist also claims to sell single earrings so that customers can easily replenish their sets if one earring gets lost. They also claim to offer a ring sizer that you can use to measure your ring size before making a purchase, or you can choose to download their digital ring sizer to use before making a purchase. Gemist design their pieces in different colors such as yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, and silver. The gems on sale at Gemist include White Sapphire, Yellow Sapphire, Blue Sapphire, Emerald, Garnet, and Champagne Sapphire.
To help customers design their rings, Gemist claims to link them with its "On The Hunt" stylist, who supports the customers in perfecting their designs. Once the customer perfects their designs, Gemist provides 3 try-on rings for the customer to approve.
Returns and Exchanges
All Gemist's rings are handmade custom, so they don't have a return window guarantee. However, customers can have their rings resized at a $75 fee. Since fashion rings and earrings don't have a home try-on option, they can be returned within 20 days of receipt only if their original packaging is intact. They claim to deduct a $14 handling charge for return shipping from your refund. All custom-made engraved items are final sales; thus, they are not eligible for return or exchanges. Although they don't guarantee order modification and cancellation once the order production has started, customers can reach out to Gemist within 3 hours of order placement.
Warranty and Shipping
Gemist offers a one-year warranty for defective fine jewelry rings in craftsmanship and a lifetime warranty for genuine stones. However, the warranty policy is void for defects resulting from normal wear and tear, unauthorized modifications, or improper usage and storage. Before shipping back the said defective item for inspection, customers are required to make a $50 deposit to cover the shipping costs and evaluation. Once they approve your piece to qualify for their warranty policy, they offer complimentary repair or replacement.
Currently, all Gemist jewelry is shipped out in 2 days via FedEx, but customers can opt for Expedited shipping at an additional charge. They ship home try-on orders and earrings within 1 week of order placement and ring orders within 2-4 weeks after order placement. They also ship out international orders via FedEx, with the cost of shipment calculated during the checkout. Customers can pay for their orders via Visa, American Express, Mastercard, PayPal, and Discover. Alternatively, they can opt for "AfterPay" payment options to make payments in biweekly installments.
