Alexis Bittar
There is a certain appeal to handmade jewelry. Some say it is the uniqueness that it is infused with, others say that the charm is because of the hands-on master craftsmanship and energy that goes into making it. When individuals are searching for jewelry that is both personal and meaningful, handmade jewelry rings a bell. This type of jewelry is made by a specialist jewelry designer and maker, frequently inspired by their environment or other components in their lives. This adds to the meaningfulness of the piece to both the owner/wearer and designer.
Handmade jewelry isn't mass-produced, and the method used to produce it uses less energy and other resources. Since these pieces are made by jewelry craftsmen, a higher quality of materials is utilized in the finished item. Do you want to get a head start on patronizing a handmade jewelry brand? Then, you can check out Alexis Bittar.
About Alexis Bittar
Alexis Bittar is a manufacturer of handmade jewelry. Bittar is the founder and CEO of the jewelry and lifestyle brand. Bittar was born in 1968 in Brooklyn, NY to Bob and Helen Bittar, both college professors and antique collectors. At age ten, Bittar started selling flowers from a hand-painted truck close to his home in the Bay Ridge neighborhood of Brooklyn. As a teenager, he sold antique jewelry and vintage clothing on St. Imprint's Street in New York City. In 1988, Alexis Bittar started to design his line of jewelry. He purchased his first block of Lucite in 1990 and stayed in his condo sorting out ways to hand carve it into the jewelry vision he had.
Utilizing Lucite and semi-precious stones and metals, Bittar started selling handmade pieces in the city of Soho. Dawn Mello, the fashion director of Bergdorf Goodman, found his work in 1992 and consented to carry his designs, followed by Saks Fifth Avenue, the Museum of Modern Art, Harrods, and Isetan in Japan. The organization expresses that they are credited for restoring the art costume jewelry development during the 1990s. Alexis Bittar opened their first store on Broome St. also, proceeded to open a total of 15 stores in the US.
